Wondering how to get Twitter Blue check mark in Kenya and worldwide? Then you are in the right place! In this article, we are going to analyze the two main ways you can get a blue checkmark on Twitter. So without any delay, let’s dive in.
Below are the methods you can use to get the blue Twitter check mark.
1. Get Blue Twitter Check Mark by Subscribing to Twitter Blue
After acquiring Twitter in late October 2022, Elon Musk, Twitter CEO, began making changes from the staff to the offers provided by the service. In November, he announced a new subscription service known as Twitter Blue. The service allowed all users to pay for the blue verification tick. However, it was plagued with lots of impersonation issues and had to be suspended for a while for appropriate measures to be taken. It was however reinstated later on in December 2022, with the following changes:
- Accounts representing official businesses got a Golden check mark and a square profile picture.
- Accounts representing official global government personalities and offices got a Grey check mark
- Accounts representing legacy verified and notable persons as well as Twitter Blue subscribers got a Blue check mark
This feature was initially available in a few countries such as the USA but was rolled out globally on 23rd March 2023. Your account must meet the following criteria to get and retain the checkmark:

You can subscribe to Twitter Blue in three ways:
Through the Apple App Store
If you own any Apple mobile device, you are redirected to the App Store where you can add payment methods such as Credit Cards to subscribe.
Through the Google Play Store
You get redirected to the Play Store to make purchases using saved payment methods.
Through the Twitter Website
This is the most convenient way as it allows you to subscribe while avoiding heavy charges levied by the respective app stores. An option labeled Twitter Blue pops up on the side menu where you choose either the monthly ($8) or annual plan ($84). You are then redirected to the Stripe payment page where you will add your credit card details securely and checkout.
After the payment, Twitter will take a few days to verify your account and add the blue check mark but you will be able to enjoy other privileges immediately.
2. Get Twitter Blue Check Mark by Recognition as a Notable Individual
This was the primary and only way you could get the Twitter check mark up until November 2022. If you are a notable person, it would help you to identify yourself and avoid impersonation by scammers. The process was simple. However, this method is not worth it as Twitter claims it will remove all such checkmarks and the notable figures have to subscribe to Twitter Blue to get it
